Moonlight, a lot of.

We run for the shadows
like the night is prey to be caught.
We drink in star light
as though it will quench loneliness.
But our isolation is sated
with knowledge of the other.
Your eyes are stones reflecting joy from the pools of mine,
both containing a depth of sorrow.
~
And your cry
in the gathering dusk
plays the chords of solitude in my heart.
Your bittersweet sobs
in the moonlight
urge me to dive into your mystery.
~
I will etch the contours of your form
into the eye of my mind
in the hues of every sky:
Aqua, lapis, pewter, crimson, amber, black:
even your daytime hues dusted with stars.
